Required Information to Release Vehicle

 

  1. Valid Insurance: You need to have valid insurance for the vehicle you're acquiring.

  2. Title Limit: The title must not be signed longer than 15 days prior to the acquisition.

  3. Registration Validity: The registration should be within one month of expiration, and it must be valid.

  4. Notarized Letter: If you're not the registered owner, you need a notarized letter from them. This letter should include their driver's license information and vehicle information( Vin or Plate) that they're authorizing you to pick up the vehicle. It must also mention the current title or registration and current insurance status.

  • Proof of Insurance in Your Name
  • Current Registration, Title, or Lease Agreement
  • License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Picture ID, Such as Driver's License or Minnesota ID Card
  • A Licensed Driver is Required to Drive the Vehicle From the Lot. Otherwise, You May Arrange to Have the Vehicle Towed From the Lot.

  • Visa, MasterCard, American Express
  • Personal Checks, Traveler's Checks, Money Orders, Cashier Checks

Authorizing Someone Else to Release Vehicle

A person who is not the registered owner may pick up the vehicle or remove property from the vehicle if they have a notarized statement from the registered owner that includes the following:

  • The Name of the Authorized Person
  • A Photocopy of the Registered Owner's ID or Driver's License.
  • License Plate Number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Make and Year of the Vehicle
